The Best Hudson Valley Barn Wedding Venues

The Hudson Valley is gorgeous place to get married and there are tons of beautiful wedding venues to choose from. Barn weddings are still a popular trend, especially here in the Hudson Valley where our farms and barns are authentic and have been repurposed to fit the style of every rustic-inspired bride.

In this blog, we’ll take a look at some of the most sought-after barn wedding venues in the Hudson Valley/Catskill Region.

The Top 4 Hudson Valley Barn Wedding Venues

1. Hudson Valley Weddings at the Hill

With a gorgeous view of the Catskill Mountains, and a two-story barn, this venue is to die for! Located in Hudson, New York, Hudson Valley Weddings at the Hill is only a couple miles from the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. A private drive leads you up a dirt road where the only thing between you and a herd of beautiful horses is a rustic farm fence. At the top of the hill is the large, multi-level Palladian barn built in 1801, and you can definitely feel the charm! Inside the vintage barn, is a large open space where you can have your wedding ceremony in case of poor weather. There are cute bathrooms inside the main barn, which is fairly hard to find at most barn wedding venues. To the right and the left inside the barn are old horse stables that have been converted into a groomsmen suite and storage for all sorts of tables, chairs, lawn games, signage, and decorations you are free to use. Upstairs is where it all happens. The large dance floor is in the center of the room with two dining areas on either side, perfect for a large wedding if you’re worried about buffet lines! The dance floor is original, worn hardwood and open to the enormous windows where you can look out on the lawn. If you think a two-story barn means that your guests are going to melt, it’s actually not bad! The staff turns on all the fans in the venue before the event and it’s actually quite nice, even on a hot and humid August evening.

Along with the gorgeous main barn for the reception that can accommodate over 300 guests, this venue also has a vintage/rustic-style bridal barn for you and your bridesmaids to enjoy while you get ready. Plus, it’s air conditioned! There’s also the Art Barn on site which can be used as a cocktail hour barn and an after-party barn. The site manager, Lisa is a dream to work with, letting you set up the venue 3 days before your big day and helping out wherever she can.

3. Crested Hen Farms

The fairly new wedding venue Crested Hen Farms is a working farm on the banks of the Rondout Creek in historic High Falls in the Hudson Valley. The circa 1830 English-Dutch dairy barn is a smaller venue that has been carefully repurposed, resulting in a 3,000 sq. ft. special event space with soaring ceilings, supported by large hand hewn beams that are original to the space.

As long as you’re ok with it, the farm has resident crested hens, roosters and guinea hens running around! After all, it is called the Crested Hen Farms. Like most other barns, you do have to bring in your own vendors, but the owners Frank and Richie, who are incredibly kind and welcoming, frequently go antiquing so they can provide their guests with a large collection of vintage china, rustic seating and decor to reflect the authenticity of the farm. From the stunning outdoor bar and cocktail hour space, to the gorgeous old rustic barn, to the acres of farmland situated right alongside the Rondout creek, this barn has it all.

If you check out the farm for your wedding venue, you might be lucky enough to take home a dozen fresh eggs, compliments of Frank and Richie!
